When I started my first jewelry line, it was way before the internet was a practical place to sell goods. So, a few times a year, my creative friends and I would host studio shows. Operating out of a crappy old studio, in a crappy old building, at the top of three flights of crappy old stairs meant the show had to be damn good to draw a crowd. Fortunately, my penchant for party planning played in perfectly and we were each able to make a small living.

When my focus shifted from making goods to riding bikes, instead of actioning art shows, I built bike races. I’ve always had a passion for bringing people together to share, inspire, and build community.

In 2012 I had the idea for a global celebration of women’s cycling. As luck would have it, I met my co-founders, Tanya Quick and Jenn Cash of Language Dept., right about that same time. Together, we created CycloFemme. Now, with rides in over forty countries, my interest in community events has grown exponentially. As CycloFemme continues to build into a grassroots women’s movement, I’m also lucky enough to work with some pretty rad teams to make some equally rad things.
